A beautiful Inn in a stunning setting. We especially enjoyed getting to know Cathie who joined us at breakfast and relaxing in the afternoon.

Fabulous b n b. Cathie was a wonderful hostess. Home and accommodations were superb. Very clean home very welcoming warm lovely atmosphere. The grounds and view of water was spectacular. Breakfast was great both mornings with lots of variety and home made items. Cathie prides herself on making guests feel welcome and she puts a lot of effort in her breakfast menus. Highly recommend this b n b to anyone!

We had a very good time at Cathies place. The service was excellent, the hospitality very friendly. "By the Bay" is a very nice & clean accommodation with a wonderful view. Cathie prepares extra vegan delicious breakfast ( vegan fresh prepared apple crumble, vegan homemade bread with avocado & tomatoes, homemade Granola with fruits and almond -milk ) for me !” Thank you for that "extra" service :-)

We stayed one night in July as we toured Nova Scotia. I wish we had booked more than one night. It's within driving distance of many attractions. We stayed at By the Bay because our daughter had stayed there and recommended it. She was right. Cathie is a wonderful hostess. She's welcoming and interesting to talk to. The food was wonderful, and Cathie's kind enough to share recipes. The room was spacious, clean, and beautiful. All the best features of a good B&B are here "By the Bay."

Our second time staying here. Cathie is a wonderful host and we stayed in our favourite room with a private balcony with a gorgeous view. Comfy Mattress and amazing breakfast. Cathie gave us a tip on an great hike nearby which was the perfect thing after our big breakfast! Oh and she has feeders so all kinds of birds were around which was an added bonus!

“Perfect Valentines Day Getaway!” 5 of 5 stars
My boyfriend and I had a perfect stay at By the Bay. Cathie is a hospitable and accommodating hostess! She makes the best scrambled eggs around too! The B&B overlooks a beautiful ocean bay and there is a nice yard to take a walk in. It close to Peggy's Cove and beautiful rural NS but also not too far away from the city. Perfect for a weekend get away. We stayed in the Nora & Laurie Fraser room. It has everything you need plus a jacuzzi, fire place, and balcony. (And all for an amazing price.) I was impressed with the details that went into everything and it was so clean! It was so cozy and I felt right at home, I didn't want to leave. Waking up in the morning was amazing with the sun shining through the curtains and the ocean breeze blowing in. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely visit again :)

We spent four nights with Cathie after driving from montreal, quebec. Our room was so well-equipped, comfortable bed, screen doors that opened towards the water, and a private entrance. Cathie's breakfasts were superb, lots of fruit, homemade bread, delicious egg reciPes. Cathie had maps for us and gave us easy directions into Lunenberg, halifax and area restaurants. Her warm and generous hospitality made us impatient to return...soon we hope.

My family of 4 stayed with Cathie for 1 night in August while travelling through Nova Scotia. I really wish we could have stayed longer as this was our favourite B&B during our stay in Nova Scotia!
The room was lovely (hand made soap smelled great!), the bed was extremely comfortable and the view off the balcony was wonderful.
Cathie went out of her way to make us feel welcome, even asking my kids to join her and her friends in watching the Sound of Music on Cathie's newly installed TV in her living area.
Appreciated the good food and warm, welcoming atmosphere. Would most certainly stay here again and would highly recommend Cathie's B&B to others.

By the Bay Bed and Breakfast is wonderful. Cathy Watson is genuinely interested in making sure you have everything you need for your "home away from home" stay. She is very accommodating. The beds are perfect, the breakfasts are delightful, and of course Cathy is a lovely and an excellent B&B hostess. It is a treat for me to come back yet again - in fact though I stay here when I am attending workshops, I would stay any time I get a chance. It is very much like coming home. It is a great location for exploring the South Shore of Nova Scotia or even attending an event in Halifax. It has the charm of being away from the hustle and bustle of the city (but still close enough to be a doable drive). Also, I am always impressed with the welcoming ambiance. Thanks Cathy - it was my pleasure to visit with you again.

The homemade granola, organic yogourt and fresh NS strawberries were enough on their own but were followed by oatmeal blueberry pancakes and local maple sausage.... Yummy! Rooms are very clean and nicely appointed with all the little extras you appreciate when away from home such as locally made soap, makeup remover pads, chocolate(!), etc. During our stay we met other guests who were visiting this B&B from Florida for the third time! Highly recommend you contacting Cathie to book your stay here... you wont regret it. :)
